Two Roads diverged in a yellow wood,

And sorry I could not travel both

And be one traveler, long I stood

And looked down one as far as I could

To where it bent in the undergrowth;

 

Then took the other, as just as fair,

And having perhaps the better claim,

Because it was grassy and wanted wear;

Though as for that, the passing there

Had worn them really about the same.

 

And both that morning equally lay

In leaves no step had trodden black

Oh, I kept the first for another day!

Yet knowing how way leads on to way,

I doubted if I should ever come back.

 

I shall be telling this with a sigh

Somewhere ages and ages hence:

Two roads diverged in a wood, and

I took the one less travelled by,

后记:frost的这首哲理小诗被很多人喜欢,本三第一次读到,PG选过的美国意象主义诗歌,老师也让几个同学谈过这首诗,那是第二次,今天又再次重温.是在一本小册子里找到的.那是在st paul的地铁站附近的oxfam里淘出来的,里面有101首小诗,从10.99磅便宜到3.49磅,当时随意翻了下,觉得书还新,内容也可以,又给了折扣,就买得很坚决.那是个下着雨的午后.当时店主收钱时还问我: who is your favorite poet? 当时淘了好几本,买完后很有收获感.还在附近的EAT坐了会,要了杯tea.

不过书带回国后,反而搁着一直没动,直到今天,突然有兴致.仔细一翻,是本很好的册子.象alice walker, yeats等的诗也能在里面找到,不同时期流派的都有...when I read them, I feel calm
